Our client needs a dynamic new Sales Executive following the promotion of the Assistant Advertising Manager. You will be responsible for developing strong ‘back-of-book’ revenues, progressing advertisers from classified to display and handling your own list of display clients. The team will be you and the Advertising Manager so you’ll be a vital part of the magazine’s development. The magazine is the top monthly magazine for those working within the ‘process’ industries e.g. Food & Drink, Pharmaceutical and Chemical. It was redesigned last year and launches its own dedicated web site this month. The process sector is one of the biggest earners for the UK but it is also global industry with well-known companies like Glaxo, Distillers and BASF. Advertising comes from a range of different disciplines e.g. control (IT) equipment & services, materials, weighing and processing devices.
You will be expected to maintain a strong relationship with existing clients and develop the back of book section up selling existing advertisers
The ideal candidate will have sold on B2B magazines for a minimum of 18 months or have relevant comparable experience. Experience of engineering or related disciplines would be useful but not essential. Above all you‘ll need to demonstrate strong sales ability and an ability to manage your own time effectively – vital on a small team.
